Kirkland might not be known as a major vegan destination, but there are actually a lot of great options once you know where to look. Whether you’re in the mood for Thai curry, Vietnamese pho, sushi, pizza, Indian food, or even vegan desserts, there are several restaurants around the city that make it easy to eat vegan without feeling limited. Some spots are fully vegan, while others are more traditional restaurants with surprisingly good vegan accommodations. After trying out so many restaurants in the area, these are my personal favorites. Hopefully this guide helps you discover a few new favorites around Kirkland!

Kati Vegan Thai is a great choice if you’re looking for a fully vegan Thai restaurant with a slightly more polished feel. The ambiance is a step up from other similar restaurants, and the food reflects that with clean ingredients and nice presentation.
The menu has so many options. My favorites are the devil wings and the pad kee mao. Both are full of flavor.
The main downside is the size. There aren’t many tables, so it can be hard to get a seat on busy nights. They also charge extra for some sauces, which isn't a dealbreaker, but still annoying.
I think it’s a great place when you want something a little nicer without going too formal!

Dumpling The Noodle is great if you’re looking for vegan-friendly Chinese food on the Eastside. The vegan options are clearly labeled, which makes ordering much easier.
The food itself is flavorful and satisfying, and it always comes out hot. Service is efficient, but you don't feel rushed at all. The staff is always really friendly. My go-to dishes are the spicy vegan wontons and the spicy mock duck lamen. Both really flavorful, and the pulled lamen noodles are nice and chewy!
Some dishes are a bit oily, which is fairly typical for this style of cooking. I'd strongly recommend giving it a visit!

Salt & Straw serves high-quality vegan ice cream options with good variety. They offer several clearly labeled vegan options and celebrate Veganuary every year. The flavors are creative and change often.
One of the best parts of the experience is the staff. They’re consistently friendly and happy to let you try as many samples as you want, which makes it easy to find your favorite. It’s really fun to taste a few and compare before deciding!
The only downside is that flavors rotate, so if you find something you really love, there’s a chance it won’t be there next time. Fortunately, they clearly state which flavors are seasonal. The flavor rotation keeps things interesting and gives you a reason to come back. Highly recommend!

Romio's Pizza is one of the better spots in town for vegan pizza. They have several veggie pizzas that are easy to modify, and you can add vegan cheese for an extra charge. They also offer Impossible meatballs and vegan pepperoni.
The best thing is that they use a vegan cheese that actually melts and feels like real cheese. It's not gooey like other vegan cheeses. They have plenty of toppings to choose from as well. We usually get the Mediterranean pizza and it is always great.
Their menu is hard to understand, and the vegan options aren’t labeled. Since you’ll likely be modifying items, pricing can also feel a bit unclear, but when I've gone, the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Cafe 79 is a great spot for vegan Vietnamese food in Kirkland. The menu clearly labels vegan options, and you can usually modify the vegetarian dishes easily as well.
My favorites are the veggie pho and the Vietnamese pancake. The pho is warm, flavorful, and really satisfying, while the pancake adds something a bit more unique and fun to the meal. The servers are consistently friendly and attentive, which makes the experience feel welcoming.
The restaurant is on the smaller side, so you’ll likely run into a wait during peak hours. That said, tables tend to turn over quickly, so it usually moves faster than expected. It’s a great casual option for vegan Vietnamese food!

Kamakura offers delicious vegan-friendly Japanese food. They offer a nice range of options, including vegan sushi, vegan katsu, and even vegan bento boxes. They have a vegan menu, so ordering is simple and straightforward.
One of the highlights is the sushi. They're not just basic veggie rolls. They have more unique options that are harder to find, which makes it feel a bit more special than your typical sushi spot. The katsu is also a solid choice if you’re in the mood for something crispy, unique, and filling!
A lot of the vegan options are fried, so it can feel a bit heavy depending on what you order. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but getting seated has never been an issue for me.

Kathakali is a great option for vegan-friendly Indian food with plenty of variety. There are a lot of dishes that include plant-based protein, so it’s easy to put together a filling meal without feeling limited. The menu is also fairly straightforward, and the staff are knowledgeable about vegan options, which makes ordering simple.
My favorite dishes are the kadala curry and the kale onion cashew pakora. The pakora in particular is a standout if you want something crispy and a little different. The food comes out quickly as well.
Parking can be a bit tight since the lot is small, but spots tend to open up fairly quickly. It’s a great spot with flavorful vegan options.

Cactus is one of my favorite restaurants. I often visit both the Bellevue and Kirkland locations. The Kirkland location has a cozier and more intimate feel, but it can be just as busy as the Bellevue location.
The chips and salsa are great. I love garlic, and they use a lot of it in their salsa. I almost always order the portobello fajitas as my entrée and just ask to remove the dairy. The portion size is great, so I always end up taking half of it home.
They don't have a ton of vegan options, but in my experience, I've never been disappointed. Please know that there can be a wait during the evening, so place a reservation online!

Isarn Thai is a great spot for vegan-friendly Thai food, and it is located in Downtown Kirkland really close to the water. When the weather is nice, they open the doors and it feels like an open-air restaurant, which makes it a really enjoyable place to eat during the summer.
They have a big vegan menu section, and they’re also flexible about modifying dishes if needed. I love the vegan papaya salad and the vegan pad see ew. The service is great, it has a great vibe, and they serve delicious vegan options!

Hollywood Baked Goods sells amazing vegan-friendly cakes. I recently ordered a vegan vanilla cake for my baby announcement, and the process was quick and easy. The turnaround time was fast, and the decoration turned out great. Even better, my friends couldn’t even tell the cake was vegan!
Inside the shop, there’s also a small section with vegan cake pops and other treats. Definitely a spot worth keeping in mind for birthdays or events!
