I’ve been living in the Bellevue area as a vegan since 2020, and this blog is a collection of the places I keep coming back to. It covers a range of cuisines, from quick, casual spots to nicer sit-down restaurants.
Bellevue itself is a pretty vegan-friendly place, and you can usually find solid options without too much effort. Plus, Seattle is just across the bridge and is even more vegan-friendly, with a wider range of great spots if you’re willing to venture a bit farther.

Araya's Place is a 100% vegan Thai restaurant I’ve been going to for years, and it’s one of my most frequented restaurants. The servers take your order quickly, and the food comes out fast, which makes it easy to stop in for a casual meal. The dishes are consistently good, with that slightly smoky, wok-seared flavor that makes everything taste better.
Prices are reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. It works best if you go with a group and order a few things to share. The stir fries and curries are the highlights and I order them every visit! My favorites are the Panang Curry and Phad Phak. The Tofu Cream Cheese is also a really unique option that you have to give a shot.
The only downside is the space. It’s a small restaurant, and the tables are packed pretty tightly. You do feel a bit cramped, and the vibe makes you want to eat quickly and get going. For quick, tasty, and dependable vegan Thai food, it’s a strong option.

Chay Concept is a solid option if you’re looking for something a bit different from typical vegan food. The flavors and textures stand out right away, and a lot of the dishes feel more creative than what you usually find. Everything is also presented really nicely, which adds to the experience. The atmosphere is slightly formal but still comfortable, and our server was very helpful and friendly.
One thing to note is that it’s technically a vegetarian restaurant, but their menu is mostly vegan, and most non-vegan dishes can be modified. The La Lot Platter is especially worth trying. It’s unique, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the menu!
The location is a little awkward since it’s tucked behind the building, but parking at Soma Towers is free with validation. Overall, it’s a great choice when you want something a bit more special than the usual vegan spots. Easily one of my favorites!

Din Tai Fung delivers a strong experience for vegans, mainly because the menu is clearly labeled and easy to navigate. Vegan options are identified clearly, and there’s something available for every course, from appetizers to dessert! My favorite dish is the sesame xiao long bao.
The atmosphere is a major strength. The space feels polished and modern, and watching the kitchen in action adds to the experience. It does get busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation.
Prices are on the higher side, but the consistency and overall experience justify it.

Square Lotus is a solid vegan-friendly option in Bellevue, especially if you want something light, flavorful, and affordable.
The food has a home-cooked feel with fresh, healthy dishes that are well seasoned without being heavy. They offer a vegetarian menu with plenty of options, and it is usually easy to order items vegan.
The ambiance is basic, but the service is consistently fast and friendly. Overall, it is a reliable spot for a quick and satisfying meal with good plant-based options.

Cactus is a fun, lively spot that I keep coming back to. The atmosphere is a big part of the appeal. It gets busy, energetic, and is a great place to meet up with friends.
The chips and salsa are so hard to stop eating, especially if you like garlicky salsa. I always order the portobello fajitas, which are excellent and come in a huge portion. It’s easily two meals for me. Just make sure to ask for vegan modifications.
There can be a wait during peak hours, but it’s easy to reserve a spot online ahead of time. The vegan options are somewhat limited, but the ones they do have are delicious. It's a great choice for a date night or when eating out with omnivore friends.

Voodoo Doughnut is a fun stop if you’re looking for a vegan dessert in the Eastside. They have both normal donuts and cake donuts. There is a large variety of flavors and the voodoo decorations keeps things fun.
The vibe is part of the experience. The hot pink interior and quirky, voodoo-themed decor make it feel more like an attraction than a typical donut shop.
The vegan options are clearly labeled, which makes ordering easy. There aren’t as many vegan flavors as the regular ones, but there’s still a wide variety of options. You can't even tell the donuts are vegan. They're fluffy, flavorful, and so delicious! My favorite is the maple cream!
Prices are a bit high for donuts, but you’re paying for the uniqueness, experience, and incredible taste. Overall, it’s one of my favorite options when I'm craving something sweet!

Garlic Crush is a dependable local chain with several solid vegan options. It’s the kind of place that’s easy to come back to because the food is consistent, filling, and reasonably priced. Portion sizes are great, so you’re definitely getting good value.
My go-to order is the falafel platter, and I especially love the lentil soup. The food is flavorful, satisfying, and an overall great option if you're looking for Mediterranean food.
The vibe is pretty casual, so it’s more of a quick, relaxed meal than a sit-down experience. One thing to double-check is the pita bread, since I’ve heard mixed answers on whether it’s vegan. Overall, it’s a great local chain to keep in rotation when you want something simple, filling, and reliable.

Zeeks Pizza is a good option when you’re looking for a place to share a meal with friends or family. The atmosphere is relaxed and social, which makes it easy to hang out and enjoy a few pizzas together.
They offer several veggie pizza options, and you can swap in vegan cheese, which is a big plus (there is an added charge). It’s nice to have a place where you can participate in pizza night without feeling limited.
That said, it can get a bit pricey, especially once you start modifying for vegan options. Also, we thought our pizza was a bit bland and needed salt. Overall, it's still a great spot for vegan pizza that can be shared with friends or family.
