Taco Mama

Taco Mama is such an Alabama staple. I especially appreciate that they offer tofu as a protein option since that isn’t common at taco places in the south. One important thing to know is that the rice and guacamole are not vegan, which surprised me at first. The rice contains honey, and the guacamole has sour cream mixed in. Not all the employees are aware of that. That said, once you know what to order, it’s easy to put together a really solid meal. I usually build my own bowl with a bunch of toppings, and the free chips and salsa on the side are always a nice bonus! Now that I have moved out of state, I am constantly craving Taco Mama and we always come at least once when I'm in town.

The burrito baskets give great portions! Very tasty too.
